Do Your Joints Hurt? You’re Not Alone.

Welcome to the club.

Growing up with active parents, movement has always been a big part of my life. But about eight years ago, knee pain set in—then hip pain. Exercise made it worse, so I’d stop, only to start again and repeat the cycle.

I tried Yoga, Pilates, Physical Therapy, Ozone treatments, tenotomy, sports massages—you name it. I saw orthopedic doctors, chiropractors, and integrative medicine specialists, each with a different theory: arthritis, fibromyalgia, autoimmune disease, wear and tear, psoas issues—try acupuncture!

For two years, I felt my hip physically pop out of the socket and lock at a 90-degree angle after sitting too long. Another MRI later, and finally—a diagnosis: labrum tear.

Surgery was scheduled (after AEP, of course—LOL!), and on January 17, I had my hip repaired. Seven weeks later, I’m still in recovery, regaining strength and mobility.

The truth is, I know I’m not alone. Many of you also deal with joint pain or have had orthopedic surgery, wondering: What happened? Where is this pain coming from?

Today, I listened to Dr. Vonda Wright, a renowned orthopedic surgeon, who made an excellent point:

Our strongest muscles are in our lower body because we are built to move.

At any age, movement and muscle strengthening are essential for stability, mobility, and longevity.

So, whether you’re healing from an injury or managing everyday aches, don’t stop moving—just move smarter.

If this resonates with you, I’d love to hear your story. What helps you stay active? Let’s keep the conversation going!

Wishing you health and movement,
